Hello all you out there in fantasy football land. Welcome to the weekly recap of newsvine’s own fantasy football league, Get Tackled Here.

Big news in week one as Tom Brady goes down, potentially ending the season of one team, and hurting the season of two others who own Randy Moss and Wes Welker.

For the players, feel free to use the comment thread for trade talk, league talk, and general trash talk. That’s right, if it is related to fantasy football, consider this thread COH-free. Trash talk away!

Adam Hobson’s COH Violation – 91.66 over ajs’s Melchizedek’s Mafia – 75.22

For ajs, Drew Brees did his thing with over three hundred yards passing and another 3 touchdowns, but the rest of his team went touchdown-less and disappointed on the week. Defenses like Baltimore and kickers like Neil Rackers is why I don’t draft defenses or kickers early. I can get double digits points from drafting defenses late and pulling kickers off of the waiver wire.

Evan Mix’s [Name Redacted] – 84.69 over Jason Ford’s TheOne – 79.04

Jason better start paying attention to his team, because when you (auto)draft and start guys like TJ Rushing (on the IR) and Sean Conover (not currently on an active roster) he’s only going to act as an easy win for the rest of the league.

Eric Atienza’s WaitingForNextSeason – 68.45 over jamiewb’s Tank Johnson – 49.69

jamiewb is our winner of Tom Brady’s injuring totally ruining his fantasy season. Now he’s left hoping that Kurt Warner can stay healthy and stay the starter in Arizona.

Sgt. Pepper’s Big Ben’s Buddies – 84.38 over Andrew Min (formerly Online Apps)’s Da Geeky 11 – 59.43

Andrew better hope that his team doesn’t consistently consist of four players who score less than a single fantasy point each week, including a negative score for Josh Wilson. Sgt. Pepper wasn’t exactly helped by Brady’s injury either thanks to drafting Wes Welker as his number one receiver, but the rest of his team is still solid, and has plenty of life left.

Sheil Naik’s This is the year – 87.66 over TomPitysFools’s Ultra Beatdown! – 76.66

Tom can’t expect Hines Ward and Frank Gore to carry his team when he’s challenging Andrew for most worthless roster spots with seven of his players scoring four points or less.

Fast Eddie’s Buy One Get One Free – 107.87 over gecko85’s Gecko’s Army – 100.10

It’s not always fun scoring the second most points of the week, especially when your opponent scored the most points of the week. Micheal Turner matching up against Willie Parker can do that when they combine for over three hundred yards and five touchdowns. Randy Moss delivered this week, but Fast Eddie has got to be worried about the future.

Ramon Lo’s Tha Finz – 92.23 over Calvin Tang’s GristleMakers – 88.10

Calvin is another owner that needs to start paying attention. Starting auto-drafts like Allen Rossum and Rian Wallace (not on an active roster) who combine for a total of zero fantasy points were probably the difference between his loss this week and probably winning.
