Get Tackled Here – Week Two in Review By Adam Hobson, Posted on September 18, 2008 at 11:15 pm | Short URL | Have Your Say Hello all you out there in fantasy football land. Welcome to the weekly recap of newsvine’s own fantasy football league, Get Tackled Here. For the players, feel free to use the comment thread for trade talk, league talk, and general trash talk. That’s right, if it is related to fantasy football, consider this thread COH-free. Trash talk away! Evan Mix’s [Name Redacted] – 116.30 over Adam Hobson’s COH Violation – 94.32 I knew it was a good idea to start Aaron Rogers, facing Detroit over Brett Favre, facing New England, what I didn’t count on was Eli Manning facing St. Louis or Anquan Boldin facing Miami. Ramon Lo’s Tha Finz – 121.08 over ajs’s Melchizedek’s Mafia – 88.79 I’ve thought Chris Chambers was overrated. His value was being the only warm body for whoever was quarterbacking Miami to throw to. Maybe that’s still the case, but Philip Rivers is a far better quarterback than Miami has seen in a long time. And that’s a combination that Ramon Lo is going to ride for a few victories this year. Eric Atienza’s WaitingForNextSeason – 87.76 over Jason Ford’s TheOne – 74.04 Jason still needs to reset his roster as he’s starting an injured Colston, and two auto-draft scrubs who are no longer on rosters on defense. Eric was handed this win. jamiewb’s Tank Johnson – 124.14 over Andrew Min (formerly Online Apps)’s Da Geeky 11 – 74.69 jamiewb has decided to join the Jay Cutler bandwagon without actually owning Jay Cutler by starting both Bronco’s receivers Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal. On weeks like this it works, but on other weeks he won’t get so lucky. Note to Andrew, please grab some decent defenders for your team, and please stop starting Javon Walker, this isn’t 2004. Sgt. Pepper’s Big Ben’s Buddies – 69.79 over Sheil Naik’s This is the year – 47.99 Sheil was screwed by Ike and starting two players from the postponed Houston/Baltimore game. Not that it made all that much differnce when not a single one of his other players scored double digit fantasy points. gecko85’s Gecko’s Army – 105.94 over TomPitysFools’s Ultra Beatdown! – 45.76 gecko85 has shown me why Tony Scheffler was worth starting. Tom was also screwed by Ike, not to mention the complete disintegration of the Cincinnati Bengals. Calvin Tang’s GristleMakers – 114.13 over Fast Eddie’s Buy One Get One Free – 46.60 I’d like to know how Fast Eddie expects to win while starting Tarvaris Jackson at quaterback, even the Vikings have finally learned the error of their ways. I see that this week Fast Eddie is riding the JT O’Sullivan train, which against the Detroit defense may end up as a pretty nice ride.
